Jazz in July Comes to New Rochelle July 10th through 19th

Enjoy two weekends of great jazz as Jazz in July returns to New Rochelle. Weekend One begins on Friday, July 10 with an Opening Night Jam at Alvin & Friends (14 Memorial Highway) from 7 to 10 pm; then on Saturday, July 11 the Summer Sizzle Concert Series at Ruby Dee Park will present a Jazz Extravaganza with the Brian Carter Quartet at 6:30 pm, followed by Jon Regen delivering a fresh, modern take on jazz piano tradition at 7:30 pm. On Sunday, July 12 the Lee Hogans Quartet will perform from 4 to 6 pm as part of NRCA’s Jazz at the Station series (NR train station, 2nd floor).

Weekend Two kicks off on Saturday, July 18 with the Wayne Henderson Quartet at Alvin & Friends from 7 to 10 pm. Then on Sunday, July 19 hear Mudsole perform at the Thomas Paine Memorial Building (983 North Avenue) from 3 to 5 pm. Extremely energetic and highly charismatic, Mudsole plays New Orleans Jazz, with the vibrant energy and upbeat enthusiasm that make the "Dixieland" style as irresistible as ever.

Finally, The Songcatchers Orchestra will perform at the nearby Thomas Paine Cottage (20 Sicard Avenue) from 5:30 pm to 6 pm, followed by the Sound Shore Jazz Orchestra playing from 6:30 pm to 8 pm.
