UPDATE: Man Who Barricaded Himself in New Rochelle Apartment Was Safely Removed

Police had initially thought a hostage situation was unfolding.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A tense situation was resolved in New Rochelle Thursday when a distraught man barricaded himself in an Anderson Street apartment.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police have left an apartment building at 5 Anderson St. in New Rochelle and a crisis team is on its way.

News 12's Grace Noone reported that the police were originally called to the neighborhood over concerns of a hostage situation, which turned out not to be the case.

Noone said the crisis team will try to get the person who is barricaded in the apartment out safely without harming himself or anyone else.


NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Numerous police vehicles are in a New Rochelle neighborhood near New Roc City Thursday morning.

News 12 reported that they were told by neighbors that someone living at 5 Anderson St. had barricaded themselves in an apartment.
