Lost Horse That Made Its Way Downtown Corralled At Starbucks

New Rochelle police tapped the expertise of Twin Lakes Farm to help keep the pony safe and the morning coffee lines moving.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — When New Rochelle police got a call from Larchmont police to help apprehend a suspicious horse, officers probably thought they were being pranked by the neighboring jurisdiction, but it turns out that the early morning chase led right back to the city.

The wandering pony eventually made its way to the normally busy intersection of Echo Ave. and U.S. Rte 1. After the wayward equine was corralled, Twin Lakes Farm in Bronxville offered the horse more suitable accommodations.

This horse tale had a happy ending for all.

"The pony the police called about this morning that was in the parking lot of the Starbucks across from the Taco Bell in New Rochelle was visiting overnight in the backyard in Larchmont [prior to escaping]," Twin Lakes said in its most recent update on social media. "Guess he wanted his Starbucks first thing in the morning. He has been returned to his people."
