Man Injured, 2 Boats Damaged in New Year's Day Fire at New Rochelle Marina

The man who tried to battle the flames had burns on his neck and face.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A fire at the New Rochelle marina on New Year’s Day morning left one man with burns on his neck and face and destroyed two boats.

The boyfriend of Consuelo Escobar tried to fight the fire with an extinguisher but wind caused the fire to spread to the second boat, the Journal News said, and she said he will be OK.

One boat was untied and allowed to drift into the water where firefighters tried to put it out.
