NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Mass layoffs are in the works at the College of New Rochelle. About 500 of the college's employees were told that the layoffs are expected in July.

The notification, which came under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act, was sent to about 300 full-time faculty and staff and a little fewer than 200 adjunct professors, the Journal News said.

The note to employees said that a limited number of them will continue so the campus can be maintained and administrative affairs be wrapped up.
