Mayor Swears In 6 Newly Promoted Members Of New Rochelle Police

The ceremony at city hall on Thursday officially introduced two new captains, two new lieutenants and two new sergeants at NRPD.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Congratulations were in order as six recently promoted members of the New Rochelle police force were officially introduced by their new ranks at a swearing-in ceremony on Thursday.

Commissioner Robert Gazzola and Deputy Commissioner Cosmo Costa, who both earned promotions of their own following the retirement of longtime commissioner Joseph Schaller on July 1, offered their salutes. Mayor Noam Bramson swore in the newly minted captains, lieutenants and sergeants. New Rochelle City Manager Chuck Strome was also on hand for the ceremony, along with the families of the six men being honored.

Former Lt. Raul Rodriguez was officially introduced as Capt. Rodriguez for the first time along with former Lieutenant Neil Reynolds introduced as Capt. Reynolds. Det. Sgt. Robert Torr was promoted to the rank of Detective Lieutenant and Sgt. Melvin Molina is now a Lieutenant. Det. Matthew Glass earned the rank of Detective Sergeant and Officer Patrick J. Lunn can now be called Sgt. Lunn.
