More Plan To Start Black Friday Shopping On Thanksgiving [POLL]
Stores opening on Thanksgiving certainly seems to be a tradition now. Will you be starting your holiday shopping on Thursday?
Some people wait for Black Friday to arrive because they need to be the first to buy the latest, cheapest TVs or hottest toys or feel it's when the holiday shopping season begins. Others can take it or leave it.
But if you are out taking advantage of shopping on Thanksgiving, you won't be alone — not by a long shot.
According to USA Today, 58 percent of shoppers plan to be buying stuff on Thanksgiving Day. That is up from 45 percent in 2018.

Despite the controversy of taking employees away from their families on the holiday, there doesn't seem to be any decline in the number of participating stores.
In fact, Bed Bath and Beyond will be opening at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving for the first time, USA Today reported.

In some states, such as New York, Black Friday can be a free-for-all in some stores starting Thanksgiving evening and then picking back up on Black Friday.
Shoppers who frequent Woodbury Common Premium Outlets in Orange County can start their shopping at 9 a.m. Thanksgiving and keep going straight through 11 p.m Black Friday. Is that enough shopping for you?
Otherwise, some malls and stores open as early as 5 p.m. Thanksgiving and stay open until midnight or 1 a.m. only to reopen in the wee hours of Black Friday.
But that's not the case in all Northeast states.
Residents of Massachusetts, Maine and Rhode Island follow "blue laws," which prohibit most retailers from being open on Sundays and holidays, including Thanksgiving.
However, when the clock strikes midnight, it's all fair game.
In Massachusetts, many stores are scheduled to open by 6 a.m. or 7 a.m. Friday, but Kohl's, Dick's Sporting Goods and GameStop will let customers start shopping at 12:01 a.m. Friday. In other states not hampered by blue laws, Kohl's will be swinging open its doors at 5 p.m. Thanksgiving.
