Mystery Boat With New Rochelle Connection Runs Aground in FL

Authorities believe it was carried northward by Hurricane Irma.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Is anyone in New Rochelle missing a sailboat? An unoccupied 45.4-foot double-masted fiberglass-hull sailboat has run aground in Melbourne Beach, FL.

The mystery boat — which has “New Rochelle NY” painted on the back — was spotted by a jogger Tuesday, and it’s been determined that it is registered to someone in Key West, FL who is currently in jail, the Journal News said.

The sailboat is named “Cuki” and authorities believe that it was carried northward by Hurricane Irma, Fox 35 Orlando said.
