New Pizza Place Opens At Site Of Old Modern In New Rochelle
The restaurant has been vacant for five years.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The building that formerly housed Modern Pizza — before it dropped “pizza” from its name and moved to Huguenot Street — is now the home for a new place for pizza. Pizzeria La Rosa was opened by Matt DiGesu an Frank Pinello at 12 Russell Ave. off of Main Street.
The new owners had the 1924 Petersen oven converted to wood burning for what they call a “higher quality product,” the Journal News said.
There are four menu pizzas — veggie, white, meatball and Margherita — and custom pizzas can be ordered as well.
