New Rochelle Awarded For Excellence In Financial Reporting
This is the 28th consecutive year New Rochelle has received the award.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting (CAFR) has been awarded to the City of New Rochelle by the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA) of the United States and Canada for its Fiscal Year 2018 financial report. This is the 28th consecutive year New Rochelle has received the award, the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting.
“We commend our Finance Department for once again receiving this distinguished honor, which is a tribute to their professionalism and integrity,” said City Manager Charles B. Strome III.
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximately 17,500 government finance professionals with offices in Chicago, Illinois, and Washington, D.C., according to a spokeswoman. The CAFR has been judged by an impartial panel to meet the high standards of the program, including demonstrating a constructive “spirit of full disclosure” to clearly communicate its financial story and motivate potential users and user groups to read the CAFR.
