New Rochelle Christmas Tree Lighting Set for Dec. 3

The annual event is sponsored by the Chamber of Commerce and the City of New Rochelle.

The Chamber of Commerce and the City of New Rochelle will host the annual Lighting of the Christmas Tree on Thursday, December 3, at Memorial Plaza in Downtown New Rochelle.

The lighting event, which also features the lighting of a Hanukkah Menorah, will be conducted by Bob Marrone, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce, Mayor Noam Bramson and religious leaders of the New Rochelle Community starting promptly at 6 p.m. This year’s tree is a 22-foot Norway Spruce.

The public is invited to this complimentary event, as each spiritual leader will represent the solemnity and spirit their respective holiday in a short service. The ceremony will signify the unity of the diverse and harmonious community of New Rochelle as they come together to celebrate the joy of the season.

Carols will be sung by the well-known Songcatchers and people who choose to sing along. At the conclusion of the ceremony, Santa Claus will make an appearance, compliments of the New Rochelle Fire Department.

Anyone can join in the festivities and continue the merriment afterward as the party moves a little further down the block to Alvin and Friends at 14 Memorial Highway for some hot chocolate and treats compliments of the Chamber and Alvin and Friends.
