New Rochelle Council on the Arts Welcomes New Board Members

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts (NRCA) is pleased to welcome two new Board members: Lee Hogans and Lois Russo have been elected to NRCA’s Board of Directors.

“NRCA is an all-volunteer organization, so we are always on the lookout for talented, hardworking people whose passion is the arts, and both Lee and Lois fit that profile,” says Theresa Kump Leghorn, President of NRCA. “Both Lee and Lois jumped right in as volunteers, wowing us with their creativity, and we know each of them will bring unique skills and talents to the Board.”

Lee Hogans is the founder of WiLeeHo Music LLC and a New Rochelle-based trumpeter, producer, composer, and educator, with more than 25 years of experience and performance credits including Prince, Jay-Z, and Maceo Parker. Formerly
Chief Education Officer at Harlem School of the Arts and Director of Music & Education at Jazz House Kids, he brings a passion for arts education and community engagement to his work.

Lois Russo had a long and successful career in International Public Relations, focused on technology-related companies. She recently pivoted to a second career working at New Rochelle City Hall in the Parks and Recreation Department. She enjoys music, reading, long walks, and spending time with her family.

The New Rochelle Council on the Arts was created by the New Rochelle City Council in 1975 to stimulate and encourage the study and presentation of the performing and fine arts, and for more than 50 years NRCA has worked to fulfill that mission by sponsoring art exhibitions, theatrical productions, dance recitals, film screenings, lectures, and concert series. In addition, NRCA has sponsored public art -- like the popular NRNY Murals -- and created annual events like the Summer Sounds Concert Series at Hudson Park and ArtsFest, while helping to build relationships between the arts, the business community and city government. NRCA's Board of Advisors includes Terry Prettyman Bowles, Nick Carter, Michael Dandry, Leslie Demus, Angela Derecas Taylor, Linda Kelly Fauci, Dianne Flagello, Lynne Honeysett, Melisa Panszi Riebe, Jesse Sanchez, Leah Sills, Mercy Tullis-Bukhari, Billie Tucker and Eric Woodlin, and Ex Officio Member Vin Parise, Commissioner of New Rochelle’s Department of Parks & Recreation.
