New Rochelle DPW Commissioner Quits, Deputy Appointed Interim

The interim commissioner left his city manager position in Rye in the wake of a scandal.

New Rochelle, NY — New Rochelle’s public works commissioner resigned after five years and will be replaced with the former Rye City Manager, who was his deputy.

Scott Pickup, who left his job in Rye in the wake of Rye Golf Club scandal, was appointed interim DPW commissioner by City Manager Charles Strome III, according to an article at lohud.com.

Alexander Tergis was the previous commissioner of public works.

Pickup was the city manager in Rye who approved what were later determined to be phony invoices submitted by Rye Golf Club manager Scott Yandrasevich.

Yandrasevich was sentenced to up to three years in prison for stealing more than $270,000 from the municipal golf course by handing in false invoice for fictitious employees over a four-year period.
