NEW ROCHELLE, NY — It's understandable that the city worker who sees to it that paychecks for more than 600 of her fellow city workers are ready and on time, is one of the most popular people at city hall, but it's the way she handles the inevitable complications that has earned her true adoration.

On August 9, the city recognized Anne Lyerly for over 20 years of service to the City of New Rochelle. The turnout spoke to the popularity and the respect of her colleagues. Those in attendance not only expressed thanks for her strong work ethic, but also her commitment to the community and even her amazing cooking skills.

"Anne’s thoughtfulness and kindness to everyone who enters her office in need of help is truly appreciated," the city said in a statement announcing the honor posted to social media. "Congratulations Anne on being the Employee of the Month."
