NEW ROCHELLE, NY —The New Rochelle Fire Department hosted its Promotion Ceremony Thursday at the Council Chambers in City Hall to appoint 12 members to new ranks. Fire Chief Andrew Sandor was joined by Mayor Noam Bramson, City Manager Chuck Strome, and fire department Chaplin Father Michael Challinor.

In compliance with social distancing guidelines, the ceremony was held virtually and live streamed for families and friends to join in the celebration.

“Every Fire Department member being sworn up into a new rank today has a story — an important story. A story of tenacity and dedication, of sacrifice and service,” Sandor said. “We hope their stories will inspire our members to stay engaged and bring their ‘A’ game to work every day. The public, who honor us with their trust, deserve that.”
