New Rochelle Man, 29, Missing Since Falling into Hudson River
Michael Stafford has been missing for close to a week.
The family of New Rochelle resident Michael Stafford is desperate to find the 29-year-old who fell into the Hudson River last week, but they are frustrated by the lack of response by the Poughkeepsie police, reports News 12 Westchester.
According to the department, personnel searched for Stafford after the report that he fell into the river on April 2, but the department stopped the search the next day, in part because it is not equipped with a boat. The department said Stafford was smoking PCP along the banks of the river in Poughkeepsie at the time.
“I believe if it was an accident, if he did slip and fall and if he is in the water, I just want to get him out,” Stafford’s brother, Tony Lee, told News 12.

“They haven’t done anything,” Lee continued, referring to the police department. “We had to call them to even come out to the riverfront.”
