New Rochelle PD Buys Bulletproof Vests for Canine Officers from Donation
The money to buy them was collected and donated by two New Rochelle residents.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Two New Rochelle residents raised $3,000 to buy bulletproof vests for the New Rochelle Police Department’s K-9 Unit.
Jennifer Ubl and Jessica Levine used a change jar at the Larchmont Animal Hospital and a GoFundMe page to raise the cash that will buy the vests for three police dogs, according to the Journal News.
The GoFundMe page, which has stopped accepting donations, said there was only one bulletproof and stab-proof vest for all the canine officers to share.

“Now, if you are a dog lover like myself, you know that not all dogs are the same size,” Ubl and Levine wrote. “That being said, it’s been used and abused and stretched out, so how can that protect these pups?”
