New Rochelle Petition Submitted To Honor Dick Van Dyke, Carl Reiner By Renaming Street
Is there really a big rock in the basement of the home, and do woodpeckers swoop down on children?
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A petition has been submitted to the City of New Rochelle to add an honorary name to Bonnie Meadow Road in recognition of “The Dick Van Dyke Show” and its creator Carl Reiner. The show’s characters — Rob and Laura Petrie and their son Richie — lived at the fictional address of 148 Bonnie Meadow Rd.
Reiner, while working on “Your Show of Shows,” lived at 48 Bonnie Meadow Rd. and used some of the goings on in the neighborhood as fodder for “The Dick Van Dyke Show,” the Journal News said.
Mindy Stark, a resident of Bonnie Meadow, initiated the petition.
