New Rochelle Pop Art Luminary Brightens Times Square NYE Celebration

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — This New Year's Eve, the eyes of the world will turn to nearby Times Square and a unique work by a local artist has already taken center stage.

New Rochelle artist Charles Fazzino's new artwork, commissioned by the Times Square Alliance, is titled "Happy New Year From Times Square." The work was unveiled on Dec. 22 in grand fashion at Nasdaq.

The artwork will be officially released on New Year's Eve.

"I want to Thank Aaron Boone (Yankee legend/manager), Bruce Beck Sports NBC and The Beautiful Harnaaz Sandhu 2022 Miss Universe who helped me unveil my Times Square Ball Drop artwork here at Nasdaq," Fazzino said in a statement about the grand unveiling. "I hope to capture all of the magical energy of the Times Square New Year’s Eve 2023 celebration."

While Fazzino’s reputation is global, his studios are in town. He also serves as a board member of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts.

Fazzino is described as one of the most popular and highly-collected pop artists of all time. He is famed for his "unique, detailed, vibrant, and three-dimensional style." Fazzino’s works of art are exhibited in hundreds of museums and galleries in more than twenty countries.

Fazzino was selected by the Times Square Alliance to create a commemorative work celebrating Times Square New Year’s Eve 2023. The work titled “Happy New Year from Times Square” is described as "quintessential Fazzino celebrating the dazzling lights and bustling energy of Time Square on New Year’s Eve."

The limited edition print that "captures that momentous occasion forever in timeless Fazzino style" is expected to be available for purchase on Dec. 31.
