New Rochelle Public Library Wants You To 'Sing Your Heart Out!'

The chorus of singer 55 years old and up is inviting you to join them in preparing for another emotionally charged concert season.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY —In this case when they say sing your heart out, they really mean it — and it's joyous. Now is your chance to be part of something special.

The New Rochelle Public Library announced that it will be resuming its popular "Sing Your Heart Out!" workshops for singers ages 55 & up, beginning Saturday, from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. in the Ossie Davis Theater.

  • Saturdays: May 27, June 10, June 24, July 1, July 8, 10 a.m. - noon
  • Mondays: June 5, June 12, June 26, 10 a.m. - noon; July 10, 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
  • Friday, July 14, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m.

All that rehearsing will lead to a performance for the public on July 15, at noon.

Music aficionado Robert Puleo will once again lead the workshops, which help participants gain confidence in singing, learn to sing in a chorale group, and have fun.

Interested singers are encouraged to register, even if they cannot attend every rehearsal. Registration can be done online, or by calling the library’s Community Relations Office at (914) 813-3706.

The free workshops are made possible by the Lillian Robbins-Rick Englander Fund.
