New Rochelle Schools Extends Spring Break

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — We hope this doesn't jinx anything, but the New Rochelle school district is getting an extra day for spring break. A posting on Facebook by interim Superintendent Dr. Magda Parvey said that the district only used two snow days that had been incorporated into the 2018-19 school calendar.

As a result, schools will be closed Monday, April 22 in New Rochelle.

That date had been designated as a weather make-up day should it have been needed because the district had to declare a larger number of snow days.

Spring break for the district will now be from Monday, April 15 through Monday, April 22.
