What business are you in? Tumble n Dry is a fully attended owner-operated self-service Laundromat. We specialize in the pickup, cleaning and delivery of laundry for commercial and retail accounts.

How did you come up with the name? We wanted a name that professionally and elegantly represented to the market the business that we are in.

Why start a business in this town? We looked at many Laundromats in the Bronx, Manhattan and Westchester County before deciding on New Rochelle. The city is on the verge of unprecedented growth and we are proud to be a part of that history. New Rochelle’s most appealing characteristic to us are the people.

What’s the most difficult challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? My wife is an educator and I have a financial service background. As first-time business owners, our biggest challenge has been understanding who we are and what we want to be. Our goal is to be “New Rochelle’s Best” and we are beginning to understand what that means not only to us but to our valued customers.

What’s been your proudest achievement since opening? This year we launched a pick-up and delivery laundry service that has been well received by many of our elderly neighbors, many of whom are nursing home residents and are unable to manage the task of doing their laundry. I have been told that having the option of scheduling a pick-up and delivery from a local reliable business at a reasonable price has been long overdue. This by far is one of our proudest achievements.

How does your business give back to the community? Tumble n Dry is a member of the New Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and takes every opportunity to support New Rochelle businesses. We are a community service business that happens to be a laundromat. Our customers take pride in being a part of the Tumble n Dry family and enjoy seeing their picture on our “Family Wall.” Last tax season we invited H&R Block into Tumble n Dry to answer questions and schedule appointments. This was greatly appreciated and a big success. Tax season is right around the corner!
