New Rochelle Touts Tennis Ball Recycling Effort

The program has been in place since April 2016.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Tennis balls can be recycled at Pinecourt Tennis Courts in New Rochelle.

The New Rochelle Department of Parks and Recreation installed a green “Ad-In Bin” to the outside fence at the tennis courts, according to information from the city.

Department personnel collect the balls which are shipping to a recycling center.

Organizers said the program and bin, created by Retour Tennis, hopes to educate the community about the importance and value of recycling tennis balls.

The program was initiated in April 2016 and has recycled more than 1,200 tennis balls so far.
