New Rochelle Volunteers Make Holidays Brighter for the Elderly
UJA-Federation of New York brings Hanukkah to residents of Kittay House.

To help the residents of Kittay House take part in holiday festivities, UJA-Federation of New York’s New Rochelle community held a party at the independent senior living facility in the Bronx run by its partner, the New Jewish Home. On Sunday, December 10, 2017, families shared holiday cheer with games, snacks, and celebration.
The event was part of UJA-Federation of New York’s Gift of Hanukkah, a program during which Westchester communities host parties at a number of local UJA-supported nonprofits.
“Our Gift of Hanukkah program is one way that we do tikkun olam, to make the world a better place,” said Audi Abraham, who served as chair of the event with Jill Goldfein and AnneBeth Levenson, all of New Rochelle. “UJA supports a network of more than 80 core partners and hundreds of other nonprofits, large and small.”

“Together, we feed the hungry, house the homeless, assist people with disabilities, and do so much more. Where there’s a need, UJA — in partnership with our generous donors — is able to help,” she continued.
