New Rochelle To Vote On Revised Budget Tuesday

The first budget failed because it needed a 6o percent approval rate.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Voters in the New Rochelle school district will be going to the polls Tuesday to approve an amended budget. The first budget, which required a 60 percent approval because its tax levy was above the state mandated tax cap, failed May 15.

The new budget is for $270.4 million, which is 4.14 percent more than the 2017-18 budget.

The tax levy increase budget to budget is 2.231 percent, which is within the state mandated tax cap, so it will only require a majority vote.
