New Rochelle Will Join To Share Loss, Honor Sacrifices On 9-11

In observance of the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks, a day of ceremonies will be held in the city.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A day that shook the world, struck especially close the the heart of New Rochelle. The city will once again join to share grief and honor the lives that were lost, and the lives that were changed forever.

In observance of the 23rd anniversary of the September 11th terror attacks, a day of ceremonies will be held across the city. All are welcome.

New Rochelle Fire Department Remembrance Ceremony
9:59 a.m. at Fire Station 1, Harrison Street
Department members will read and remember the names of the 343 FDNY members killed that day. Ceremony begins at the time the first (South) tower fell.

New Rochelle City Hall Remembrance Ceremony
11:30 a.m., City Hall front lawn, 515 North Avenue
Featuring members of NRPD and NRFD. In honor of the day, a Garrison flag was installed between the front pillars on September 10.

Candlelight Vigil, presented by the United Veterans Memorial & Patriotic Association
7:30 p.m., American Legion Post 8, 112 North Avenue
Additional parking across the street in church parking lot.
