NY Times: Some in New Rochelle are Conflicted over Ray Rice
Reactions are mixed in some parts of the community over Rice and how the high school has reacted

Once a favorite son in the community for his accomplishments on the football field, New Rochelle native Ray Rice now is at the center of a national discussion about domestic violence, and the town is grappling with how to handle the situation, according to a recent report in The New York Times.
The high school where he starred recently took down displays of some of his memorabilia, but he also attended the football team’s game last weekend while he appeals his NFL suspension.
Reactions are mixed in some parts of the community over Rice and how the high school has reacted, according to the Times. No one condones his actions which led to the suspension, but some believe the community may be overreacting by trying to distance itself from him.
