WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — NYPD has arrested a second suspect in connection with a double homicide in February that left two Westchester men dead following a dispute at a baby shower in the Bronx, according to reports from a number of media outlets.

Police officials told Aliya Schneider of The Bronx Times they arrested Mount Vernon resident Nathaniel Sewell. The 26-year-old was arrested for murder, manslaughter, gang assault and criminal possession of a weapon, the newspaper reported, citing NYPD sources familiar with the case.

Wayne Smith of New Rochelle was earlier indicted on March 10, for second degree murder and weapons charges in connection with the fatal shooting outside of the celebration, during a fight which also left Smith's brother dead, according to the Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark.

"The defendant and several other men were involved in an argument during a baby shower and took the dispute outside, where the defendant allegedly shot and killed a man while another stabbed him," Clark said.

The victim had fatally shot Smith's brother during the incident, prosecutors said. The violent scene was captured on video.

According to NYPD investigators, on February 12, just before 11 p.m., 28-year-old Smith and his brother Jamal Smith, along with several other men, including Arnold Oliver, 24, were involved in a dispute while attending the baby shower in the Fordham section of the Bronx.

The men reportedly stepped outside of the party and began fighting. After being assaulted, Oliver pulled out a gun and shot at the group, striking Jamal Smith in the chest, police said. An until now unapprehended suspect stabbed Oliver multiple times in the head and neck, before Smith took the gun from Oliver and shot him at least once in the head, according to investigators. Homicide detectives believe Smith then stomped and kicked Oliver, who was on the ground.

Police who then arrived at the scene arrested Wayne Smith. Oliver and Jamal Smith were taken to St. Barnabas Hospital where they were each pronounced dead upon arrival. Sewell, however, reportedly eluded authorities until this week.
