Pair Rescued From Waters Off New Rochelle

Their boat hit a rock and began to sink.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Two boaters were rescued Wednesday evening near Glen Island Park when their boat hit a rock and stranded them. Their boat started to sink in the incident which happened around 8:10 p.m.

A New Rochelle police officer patrolling the harbor spotted the pair and was able to pull one of the people into his boat, the Daily Voice said.

The other person swam to Glen Island Park and was picked up by Westchester County Police.
