Pedestrian Struck and Killed in New Rochelle

The victim was walking on North Avenue near Boulevard at about 11:30 a.m. Tuesday.

A 65-year-old New Rochelle man was killed Tuesday when he was struck by a van on North Avenue, according to police.

The man’s identity has not yet been released. He was walking on North Avenue near Boulevard at about 11:30 a.m. when he was hit by a white van, reports The Journal News. He was pronounced dead at Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx a short time later.

Police said the driver of the van was backing out of a construction site when he hit the man and ran over him. The driver has not been charged.
