Perez Diaz Earns ECAC Libero of the Week Honors
Tiany Perez Diaz has earned ECAC Division III Upstate/Metro Libero of the Week honors

In the team’s first week of membership in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC), The College of New Rochelle sophomore libero Tiany Perez Diaz has earned ECAC Division III Upstate/Metro Libero of the Week honors, it was announced Wednesday by the ECAC office.
Perez Diaz earned All-Tournament Team accolades after a record-breaking weekend at the 12th Annual Greyhound Premiere, held at Moravian College. The sophomore libero’s best performance came against Ursinus College, where she matched her own school record for digs in a match (35) and set a new program standard for digs in a four set match. She added three kills and three aces against the Bears. In the tournament opener against Alvernia University, Perez Diaz dug up 17 balls while adding six aces.
In the finale against Centenary College, the Juncos, Puerto Rico native posted her first double-double of the season, recording 12 digs to go along with a career-high 10 aces. For the week, she averaged 7.0 digs and 1.9 aces per set, totaling 70 and 19, respectively.

The Blue Angels are next in action on Saturday, September 6, hosting Medgar Evers College and the College at Old Westbury in the first of four Blue Angel Tri-matches. The first match is slated to begin at 11:00 AM.
