Plea Entered In Valerie Reyes Homicide Case
Her body was found in a suitcase on the side of a road in Greenwich, Connecticut.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — The man who was accused of killing a New Rochelle woman a year ago admitted that he did it. Javier Da Silva, 25, pleaded guilty to kidnapping resulting in death Wednesday in White Plains federal court.
He is expected to be sentenced May 21 for at least 30 years in prison related to the death of Valerie Reyes, 24, the Journal News reported.
Reyes was reported missing by her family Jan 30, 2019. On Feb 5, 2019, her body was found in a suitcase in Greenwich, Connecticut, on the side of a road.

Da Silva was in the United States illegally. He is a citizen of Portugal and had overstayed his visa.
"Although justice has been served, we remain saddened by the loss of Valerie and sincerely hope that her family will find peace and a sense of closure to this tragedy," Greenwich Chief of Police James Heavey said in a statement.
