Police Investigating Past Assault At New Rochelle HS
School officials said counselors would be available for students seeking support.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Police in New Rochelle are investigating a report of a past sexual assault that was said to have occurred at New Rochelle High School. New Rochelle police said the report was received Wednesday from school security.
Police would not say when the assault took place, but said the matter was under investigation, the Journal News said.
New Rochelle Superintendent Laura Feijóo sent an email to the community Wednesday about the allegation of sexual assault.

She said, after learning of the assault, school staff followed all procedures including immediately notifying her and law enforcement.
"While the district has already begun investigating the alleged incident, as well as its response to the allegation, this matter is now under active police investigation, with which the district is fully cooperating," Feijóo's email said.

She said that the district would not be providing any further details at this time, but that school counselors and other professionals would be available to the student body for any support needed.
