Real Time Crime Center Alert Leads To Weapons Charges: NRPD
New Rochelle cops got a tip from the high-tech crimefighting command center in Hawthorne about a wanted suspect driving in the city.
NEW ROCHELLE, NY — An alert that a wanted man was spotted driving in New Rochelle led to an arrest not only of the fugitive, but two of his passengers as well.
On Tuesday morning, shortly after 11 a.m., New Rochelle police and officers from the Real Time Crime Center at Westchester County Police Headquarters were notified that a man wanted by law enforcement was in a vehicle driving through the south side of the city. Detectives located the car driven by Nasiem Lopez.
The car was eventually pulled over on Stephenson Boulevard. Detectives then found a loaded 9mm handgun in the car and arrested all three occupants of the car.

Officials said Lopez was arrested on a reckless endangerment warrant out of Pelham. The 22-year-old was also charged with criminal possession of a loaded firearm.
Juan C. Mejia-Guizar of New Rochelle was also charged with criminal possession of a a loaded weapon. The 31-year-old was a passenger in the car, according to police.

Freddy Sandoval of New Rochelle was charged with criminal possession of a loaded weapon. The 24-year-old was also a passenger in the car as well, according to NRPD.
