Residential Repair Grants Available to New Rochelle Homeowners

New Rochelle homeowners have a chance to get help with home repairs under the Residential Rehabilitation Program.

According to information on the city website, owners of single-family homes, if they are financially qualified, can get grants of HOME Investment Partnerships funds from the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development.

"Through this program, qualified homeowners can receive significant assistance, while our whole community benefits from an improved housing stock and stabilized property values," said Mayor Noam Bramson.

The maximum gross annual income, for example, for a family of four is $83,400 to qualify for the program.

Eligible repairs are limited to heating, plumbing, windows and exterior doors, roofing and electrical systems.

Income-eligible city residents must live in and own their homes.
