You’re Invited to Celebrate a New Class of Leaders in Westchester

Leadership Westchester, the signature community-leadership building program of Volunteer New York!, is inducting the newest class of graduates into the Leadership Westchester Alumni Association and this year will present the 2015 Alumna of the Year award to Kate Bialo (LW ‘07) at Westchester Community College on the evening of June 23rd. Individuals interested in Leadership Westchester and community members are encouraged to attend. There is no fee, but registration is required.

Alumna of Year: As a member of Leadership Westchester’s Class of 2007, the year in which she founded Furniture Sharehouse, Kate Bialo credits the training and focus she was given in Leadership Westchester with helping her rally the resources needed to make Furniture Sharehouse a reality. And since that time she has helped provide over 47,000 items of free furniture to more than 8,700 individuals of need, enabling them to fill their empty apartments and begin rebuilding their lives (and has kept 280 tons from Westchester’s waste stream).

This recognition event for the Leadership Westchester class of 2015 graduates will be held on June 23, 2015 from 5:30-7:30pm at the Gateway Center at WCC.
