Christmas 2020: 17,000 Westchester Customers With No Power
Thousands of Westchester residents can't turn on the Christmas lights this morning.
WESTCHESTER, NY — Almost 17,000 customers in Westchester County woke up Christmas Day to no electricity.
A massive rainstorm with heavy winds tore through the Hudson Valley Thursday into Friday causing power outages around the county.
As of 10 a.m. Friday, there were more than 5,300 NYSEG customers in the dark.

Yorktown was the hardest hit with more than 1,700 customers with no electricity. Bedford has 1,300 and Somers and Lewisboro have 970 and 800, respectively.

More than 11,700 Westchester Con Edison customers don't have power Christmas morning.
There are no estimated restoration times listed on the Con Ed website.
Mount Vernon was the most heavily affected. There are more than 2,500 customers without power. Yonkers has more 1,600.
Both Cortlandt and North Castle have close to 1,000 customers out.
Along the South Shore, Rye is seeing more than 800 customers with no power, while Port Chester has about 530.
