Sand Art Competition Returning To Glen Island Beach In August

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — Get your pails, shovels and tools ready for the return of the annual Sand Art Competition at Glen Island Beach.

The 2022 Sand Art Competition/Family Fun Day at Glen Island Beach will take place on Saturday, August 6.

• Building is scheduled from 11 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• Judging will take place from 3:30 p.m. - 4 p.m.
• Winners will be announced at 4 p.m.

"The Sand Art Competition is a fun way to spend time with family and friends on the beach," said Westchester County Executive George Latimer. "I look forward to the creative sand art the participants create!"

There will also be music and games at the family-friendly event.

"Nothing is better in the summer than spending a day on the beach and adding in the element of friendly competition makes for a great summer memory," said Kathy O'Connor, Commissioner of the Westchester County Department of Parks, Recreation and Conservation. "Best of luck to this year's participants!"

Westchester County residency is required. Admission and parking fees will apply. The rain date for this event will be Sunday, August 7.
