Severe Thunderstorm Watch Declared In Hudson Valley
The National Weather Service is tracking a strong thunderstorm on its way to Southern Westchester. Winds in excess of 40 mph are possible.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — In a special weather statement, the National Weather Service is warning that a severe thunderstorm will affect parts of Southern Westchester County.
Yonkers, New Rochelle, White Plains, Hackensack, Bergenfield, Paramus, Ridgewood, Rutherford, Riverdale, Co-op City, Fort Lee, Harrison, Englewood, Scarsdale and Oradell are in the path of the storm moving east at 35 mph. Forecasters say wind gusts of 40 mph are possible with this storm, but caution the thunderstorm could intensify before reaching the lower Hudson Valley.
The weather service has also issued a severe thunderstorm watch for the Hudson Valley region, including parts of Westchester, Orange, Putnam and Rockland counties. The main concern is potentially damaging wind gusts in excess of 40 mph. Large hail, heavy downpours and flash flooding in some areas is also possible.

The severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. on Wednesday.
