Stop & Shop and the Westchester County Bee-Line Kick Off Week-Long Feeding Westchester Stuff-a-Bus Food Drive
Food Collected in 13 Stop & Shop Stores Across Westchester Will Aid Community Members Currently Facing Hunger

Representatives from Feeding Westchester, Stop & Shop and Westchester County Government, along with Westchester County Executive Ken Jenkins, joined forces today to combat hunger in Westchester by kicking off the week-long Feeding Westchester Bee-Line Food Drive.
All food collected during the food drive will be donated to Feeding Westchester and distributed through the food bank’s network of 175 local partners, including soup kitchens, food pantries, schools, shelters, residential programs, and mobile distributions. With 41% of Westchester households at risk of hunger*, this hunger-relief network served over 222,000 neighbor visits each month last year—including 71,000 child visits—and distributed 21.3 million pounds of food, equal to 17.7 million meals.
A Bee-Line bus will be stationed at the New Rochelle Stop & Shop store Oct. 23-24 from 10 a.m.- 4 p.m. with the goal of “stuffing-the-bus” with much-needed items, such as stuffing, boxed macaroni and cheese, gravy, canned fruits and vegetables, and juice, donated to Feeding Westchester by the generous members of the Westchester community.
