Storms and Gusts On The Way, Tornadoes Possible: NWS

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook in the region. Severe and potentially dangerous weather is forecast.

Hudson Valley, NY — Potentially dangerous storms are forecast by the National Weather Service to develop in Southern Westchester and the Sound Shore Thursday afternoon and evening, continuing until early morning Friday.

"Showers and thunderstorms late today into this evening may produce damaging winds and heavy rainfall," the National Weather Service said in a hazardous weather outlook issued on July 29. "An isolated tornado is not out of the question."

The areas included in the hazardous weather outlook include the Long Island Sound and the Sound Shore, stretching west of New Haven to the East River.
