Suspect Nabbed In String Of New Rochelle Business Burglaries

Four commercial burglaries took place over two nights in the same general area. A 23-year-old has now confessed to the crime spree: cops.

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A New Rochelle man has confessed to burglarize four local businesses during a two-night crime spree, police said.

On August 10 and 11, New Rochelle police were called to investigate four commercial burglaries reported in the same general area in the South West corridor of the city. Investigators soon developed evidence that the crimes were connected.

On August 13, just after 8 a.m., officers picked up Lidio Garcia, who cops say fit the description of the suspect from the burglaries.

During an interview with detectives, the 23-year-old reportedly confessed to all four burglaries as well as two burglaries in another jurisdiction. He was charged with four counts of Burglary 3rd degree for his crimes in New Rochelle, investigators said.
