Tanika Charles Named To All-HVIAC Softball Team

The Hudson Valley Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (HVIAC) released its Softball All-HVIAC team recently, and The College of New Rochelle’s Tanika Charles (Brooklyn, NY/Clara Barton HS) was named to the all-conference team for the second consecutive season.

The only repeat selection from the 2012 all-HVIAC team and one of just two student-athletes to receive all-HVIAC recognition for the second time, Charles was the offensive leader for the Blue Angels, pacing the team in average, hits, runs, total bases and stolen bases.  She was the top base-stealer in the conference, swiping nine bases (in 10 attempts) over the course of the season.  Charles ended the season on a seven game hitting streak.

When not manning the center field position for the Blue Angels, Charles also led CNR in the circle, leading the team in appearances, starts, complete games, and innings pitched.
