Teen Arrested For Daylight Robbery Near Hudson Park: NRPD

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — A teenager has been arrested in connection to a brazen robbery in a waterfront New Rochelle neighborhood.

On Oct. 17, New Rochelle detectives arrested a 17-year-old from New Rochelle. He was charged with felony robbery and criminal possession of a weapon.

On Oct. 9, around 7 p.m., New Rochelle police responded to a report of an attempted mugging in the 100 block of Franklin Avenue.

The victim, a 66-year-old woman, reported that a man approached her on foot, displayed a silver handgun, and demanded her belongings. In response, the victim began to scream, causing the would-be mugger to flee.

The suspect was last seen running into the Harbor House property, where the victim lost sight of him.

The victim was not injured and kept her belongings. Officers canvassed the area, but did not immediately find the suspect.
