Three Honored in New Rochelle for Achieving Rank of Eagle Scout
Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is an impressive accomplishment and is recognized throughout the nation and the world.
This past Saturday, June 21st, from noon – 4:00 pm, Boy Scout Troop 15 (New Rochelle), of the Westchester-Putnam Boy Scout Council, held its Eagle Scout 'Court of Honor' at the Holy Family Church cafeteria in New Rochelle (the church is located at 83 Clove Rd in New Rochelle (corner of Clove and Mayflower Ave.). Three of our scouts, Connor James Blancato, Alexander S. Romer, and Michael Shearer had the rank of Eagle Scout conferred upon them.
Earning the rank of Eagle Scout is the highest advancement in Boy Scouting. It is difficult to achieve, and carries with it a significant amount of responsibility and prestige. As such, it is universally recognized as an important accomplishment. In any lists of ‘noteworthy’ individuals, you will find many who were Eagle Scouts.
Our boys who have achieved this rank have done a tremendous amount of work to get to this point. They have participated in troop activities, worked their way up through the Boy Scout ranks, held leadership positions within the troop, have completed a required number of Merit Badges, have recorded a great number of hours performing public-service within the community and have conceived, planned and executed a final public-service project.

Achieving the rank of Eagle Scout is an impressive accomplishment and is recognized throughout the nation and the world. Our Eagle Scouts frequently receive letters of congratulations from current, as well as past, Presidents, Vice-Presidents, Senators, Congressmen and Congresswomen, regional politicians and religious leaders, including the Pope. They also receive commendations from both city and regional representatives. In addition, as a sign of community recognition and support, many of our local political figures attend the ceremony.
At a time in our lives when there is frequently so much negative news, especially involving our youth, this is an example of young men accomplishing a notable goad, both within their community and with regards to their own personal development, taking strong steps forward on the road to becoming fine citizens and future leaders.
