Ursuline School Held 25-Hour Crowdfunding Event For Local Charities

NEW ROCHELLE, NY — There was fun to be had across the Sound Shore during a marathon fundraising event, but the good times also paid off in a big way for the school and for local charities.

On Monday, the Ursuline School kicked off a 25-hour crowdfunding event with the goal of raising $125,000 to benefit students, HOPE and CSA Food Pantries with a school rally and community watch parties.

The annual online worldwide fundraiser, CROWD4TUS AND CROWD4OTHERS, has raised more than $50,000 for local charities and for the school over the past two years.

The kickoff started at 11 a.m. at the school's campus in New Rochelle with a rally filled with cheerleading routines, music and live entertainment.

Representatives of HOPE Community Services of New Rochelle, the largest emergency food pantry and soup kitchen in the region and the Community Service Associates Meal Program of Mount Vernon, whose organizations will benefit, were in attendance.

The morning rally was followed by community watch parties where local residents gathered to watch the fundraising progress on Ursuline's Action Center which tracked the number of states and countries represented, the number of colleges represented and a dozen challenges to unlock additional funds.

The first watch party was held at the North End Tavern in New Rochelle. The second watch party was held at The Rye Grill & Bar in Rye.
