Weather Update: Light Snow Tonight, Tomorrow--and More This Weekend

Plus really frigid temperatures for Westchester County.

On Tuesday, there was talk that parts of Westchester and the Hudson Valley could be hit with up to six inches of snow on Thursday, well a lot has changed in a day.

Now the latest information shows that Westchester is looking at just a coating to a maximum of about an inch tomorrow.

“Our next chance for snow comes on Thursday, as a weak Alberta Clipper system will touch off some very light snows across the Hudson Valley and the northeast,” says HudsonValleyWeather.com.

While we can all breathe a collective sigh of relief that Thursday’s snow will be nothing more than a nuisance, that doesn’t mean we’re out of the woods, not at all.

Bob Maxon, a meteorologist with NBC in Connecticut, says Friday will be cold and windy throughout the region, and then the next chance for accumulating snow could be on Saturday afternoon and into Sunday morning. This latest storm could impact your Valentine’s Day plans.

Possible snow totals for this weekend in Westchester are unknown at this time.

“Waves of arctic air will bring the lowest temperatures and the harshest conditions of the winter from late this week through the middle of the month,” writes AccuWeather.com Senior Meteorologist Alex Sosnowski.

And while we’re not talking about huge snowstorms, we’ve clearly run out places to put it, and venturing outside from Friday through Tuesday is not going to be fun, Maxon explains.
