Weekend Weather: Here Comes the Heat

It’s August, after all.

“We’ve got a true summer weekend in store, with lots of sunshine, heat, and humidity to go around,” says Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather, speaking about Westchester County and the region.

On Saturday, there’s a slight chance of showers in the afternoon after 2 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. Highs will approach 90 in most parts of the county.

Sunday and Monday will be hazy, hot and humid, with highs reaching the mid-90s.

“A ridge of high pressure will slide eastward from the Ohio Valley to just off the mid-Atlantic coast into Saturday,” AccuWeather Meteorologist Josh Searles said. “Winds will shift out of the southwest and usher in a surge of warm and humid air that will last into the start of next week.”

Tuesday may bring thunderstorms back to the region.
