Wild Multi-State Dragnet Nabs Guns, Stolen Cars And 5 Arrests: WCPD

Westchester County police recovered a car stolen in Lewisboro before the owner even realized the vehicle was missing.

WESTCHESTER COUNTY, NY — Suspects wanted in Connecticut made the mistake of fleeing to Westchester County where police quickly closed in.

Westchester County police arrested five suspects, seized a loaded handgun and recovered two stolen cars after locating suspects wanted for an attempted car theft in Connecticut.

Just after 9:30 a.m., Greenwich police notified the Westchester-Putnam Real Time Crime Center that they were seeking two vehicles in connection with the attempted theft of a car in town. The suspect vehicles, a Dodge Durango and a Mercedes G Wagon, were last seen getting on I-684 southbound.

Westchester County police soon located the wanted vehicles on the Hutchinson River Parkway and followed them to the Cross County Parkway. Three of the suspects jumped out of the SUVs onto a ramp to Yonkers Avenue.

They were apprehended by officers after a foot pursuit.

A loaded firearm was located and police found that one of the cars involved had just been stolen in Lewisboro unbeknownst to its owner, investigators said. The other vehicle had been previously reported stolen in New Jersey, according to police.


Khalyl Harley, age 23, of East Orange, New Jersey and Aliyah Richardson, age 20, of Newark, New Jersey, were charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of stolen property, according to the WCPD. Darren Troupe Jr., age 30, also from East Orange, Taliah Durham, 20, of Newark and Lillian Strickland, 30, of Bloomfield, New Jersey, were charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon and felony criminal possession of stolen property, police officials said.

All were booked at Westchester County police headquarters in Hawthorne and held pending arraignment in Yonkers City Court.
