Work Week Weather: Hazardous Weather Outlook for Tuesday
More rain - heavy at times - is expected in Westchester County.

The National Weather Service has issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for Westchester County Tuesday as another round of storms approaches.
SEVERE THUNDERSTORM DEVELOPMENT IS POSSIBLE TUESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING AS A COLD FRONT TRACKS THROUGH THE REGION. DAMAGING WIND AND LARGE HAIL WILL BE THE PRIMARY THREAT.
“Tuesday we’ll see another frontal boundary move in… and a threat of afternoon thunderstorms,” writes Bill Potter of Hudson Valley Weather. “As of now, the threat of severe weather will be a concern on Tuesday.”

As for today, expect highs in 80s and lots of sun. This week also is designated as Lightning Safety week by the NWS, which urges people to find shelter as soon as storms approach, especially if you are on a golf course or in an open field.
Seven lightning-related deaths have already occurred this year, according to AccuWeather.com, and 54 percent of all such fatalities occur on golf courses and open fields.

“Many lightning strikes are harmless and have very little effect on people and the environment, but it only takes one for tragedy to strike,” writes AccuWeather Meteorologist Brian Lada.
For the rest of the work week, Wednesday is expected to be dry in the region, but rain could return in spots on Thursday and Friday.
